Writing a Solo Fingerstyle Guitar Arrangement – Part 1

Turn a simple melody and its chords, into a fingerstyle guitar arrangement.

Start with the melody and chords (often called a lead sheet – found in fakebooks and song books) and transpose it to make room for a bass line. Add the bass line and "flesh out" the arrangement with chords. "Spice up" the melody with syncopation and "fill-in" the gaps with syncopated fills and bass runs. 25 songs arranged, several in more than one version, exercises and examples.
